“I thank God for the work that Samaritan's Purse is doing in our community...”
In the remote community of Hocha Ribwe, population of approximately 800 people, an elderly lady greets us as a water filter is distributed to her home.
As a widow, a mother of six children and living with HIV, Zalina's life has been difficult. Her health has been deteriorating over the past five months and on this particular day she was feeling just well enough to walk.
The water in the wells located in the vicinity of her home is contaminated and availability depends on how much rain the land receives. Because of the remoteness of this village, very few relief agencies work in this area.
Like many other beneficiaries in the area, Zalina is very thankful for the BioSand Water Filter Project as safe drinking water gives her and her children the opportunity to live healthier lives.
