Church and community support programmes

Operation Christmas Child, Gifts in Kind and the Samaritan's Purse Teams programme aim to support the church and communities both in the UK and overseas.

Operation Christmas Child is our largest programme and in 2006 we increased the number of gift-filled shoe boxes collected in the UK and sent to needy children in 12 countries, to 1.24 million. For the church in the UK , Operation Christmas Child provides an excellent opportunity to build links with schools and other organisation. It is a non-threatening way of bringing people alongside each other in a loving and positive Christian atmosphere.

Gifts in Kind is sent out on the request of our overseas partners and we ensure that the aid is sent to fulfil a specific need. For example, in Spring 2006 two 40ft containers full of educational supplies were sent to respond to the needs of a number of schools in Liberia .

Samaritan's Purse Teams
is a flexible short-term missions programme which aims to form lives by sending well prepared teams from the UK to learn from and serve Christian partners in the transitional and developing world.
