School Resouce CD

The Greatest Gift - music and resource CD for schools on Operation Christmas Child

Here is a wonderful new resource intended for use your school concerts and lessons. It will make running Operation Christmas Child in your school this year both lively and fun. Many of the songs on the CD have been specially written for Key Stage 2 and are easy to learn.

They have been recorded professionally and backing track versions are included. The songs, from ‘Let the Bells Ring Out’ to ‘4un2us a child is born’ to ‘I’ll B there 4 U’ reflect the themes of Christmas, poverty and injustice.

The interactive content provides resources for schools in a variety of curriculum areas. Lesson plans written for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, background information, maps, videos, pictures, etc are all included.

Did you know that:

  • Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas project.
  • The 31 million shoe boxes collected since 1989, if stacked one atop another, would rise more than 300 times higher than Mount Everest.
  • If all 31 million children who have received shoe boxes since 1989 stood handin- hand, they would form a line stretching 21,400 miles – enough to reach more than three quarters of the way around the world.
  • Operation Christmas Child has generated some 1,600 miles of smiles since 1993 – enough smiles to go from Lands End to John O’groats – and back!!
