Hurricane Katrina: Responding to disaster
Millions of people were evacuated from their homes this week as Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast . Residents of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama have been hardest hit. Some areas will be inaccessible for weeks. Samaritan's Purse is responding to this disaster by sending four Disaster Relief Units to these devastated areas, starting in Alabama .

Famine in Niger
Samaritan's Purse is responding to the state of emergency declared by the government of Niger due to general shortage of food in the country.
