London Marathon 2008

Julia Moffat

Julia Says:

I'll be 35 when I run the London Marathon.  I live in the Lake District with my husband David, and children Esther (8), Riley (6) and Hope who turns 1 a week before the big day.

Originally from Keswick,  I now live 15 minutes away in a village near Penrith.

It's a fantastic privilege to train for the race on the fells and round the lakes.  I have always loved sport but this is a huge challenge for me - a personal goal. My parents (David and Doreen Metcalf)  have been Operation Christmas Child area coordinators for the past 11 years, and we have loved being fairly heavily involved.  I have chosen to run for a different appeal - Turn on the Tap - and want to see how many families will have clean water for the rest of their lives because I ran the marathon, and people gave money to this special project.
