Drought in eastern Africa

The UN estimate that 11 million people across eastern Africa are in desperate need of food and water right now. There have been no rains for 18 months, people are dying of thirst and livestock are dying.

The extent of the drought and famine range across Kenya , Uganda , Ethopia , Somalia , Eritrea and Southern Sudan . Samaritan's Purse has teams already established across this region and we would value your prayers for us at this time, as we work through with our teams how best to respond.

The next few weeks are vital with the long rains due from March 15 th onwards and it is vital that they do not fail this year.
