Legacies and Wills

By leaving a legacy in your will you will be investing in the future of many underprivileged children and families, and still be making a difference in lives, in some cases - saving lives, even though you are no longer here. A legacy is one of the most positive and long lasting contributions that you could ever make, and it doesn't cost you anything during your lifetime. Another good thing is that as the gift will be to a charity, no inheritance tax will be payable.

To leave a legacy to Samaritans Purse is simple;

First - decide what type of legacy you would like to leave. The most common ones are:

•  Pecuniary - a fixed sum of money

•  Residuary - a share of your estate after all other debts and gifts are paid.

•  Specific - an item of value, such as shares, a house etc.

Second See your solicitor or your bank trustee department (specializing in probate work) to arrange for your wishes to be formally recorded in your Will.

In your Will you need to record our address which is Samaritan's Purse, Victoria House, Victoria Road, Buckhurst Hill, Essex IG9 5EX. Registered charity number 1001349. This will ensure that your executors will be able to find us to carry out your wishes.

Please consider making Samaritan's Purse a beneficiary of your will.

If you would like to leave a legacy or require more information, email gloria.walters@samaritans-purse.org.uk
